Metsku’s Corona Virus Information

CORONVIRUS INFORMATION CONCERNING METSKU’S WORSHIP SERVICES AND MINISTRY
Hi, The Methodist church takes the coronavirus epidemic very seriously and wants to inform you about how we will handle worship services and other ministries until further notice.

First of all we want to remind you of the fact that God is on the throne and in control, He is good and hears our prayers. We have an eternal hope in Christ and we can also be carriers of hope to people around us who are afraid or despairing. We shall together ask God for help in prayer for all people and our country.

Despite this we want to heed all recommendations from authorities, especially with concern for the elderly and those who are sick and do our part in minimizing the spread of the coronavirus in our country.

Here below is Metsku’s information and advice in the present situation, effective until further notice:

Metsku will continue with worship services on Sundays at 11 am until further notice.

You should NOT come to the worship service if you have the slightest symptoms of flu or a cold or respiratory infection.

The Finnish institute for health and welfare gives this instruction:
It is important for people with mild symptoms to see it through at home and to avoid social contact with others. Reducing social contact is also important for healthy people, as this slows down the spread of the epidemic.

If you have even the slightest rhinitis, sniffles, soar throat, cough or other symptoms of cold you should stay at home.

If you belong to a risk-group you should stay at home.
Risk-groups are elderly people and people with an underlying disease, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, a cardiovascular disease, asthma or some other serious chronical disease. If you are unsure you better check what applies to you or read on the webpages of The Finnish institute for health and welfare: www.thl.fi

Hand greeting etc.:
We recommend in Metsku to avoid all greeting of each other by handshakes, hugs or the like. In this present situation it is better to greet each other by waving and some kind words and keep a safe distance.

It is a good idea to sit somewhat spread out during worship services in our church hall and other gatherings.

Church coffee etc.:
We will not have any form of church coffee or catering during any of our worship services or other gatherings until further notice.

If you in spite of everything suddenly need to cough or sneeze during a gathering:
Cover your mouth and nose with a disposable tissue when coughing or sneezing. Immediately put the used handkerchief in the rubbish bin.
If you don’t have a handkerchief, cough or sneeze onto the upper part of the arm of your sweater, not into your hands.

Hand hygiene:
Good hand hygiene is one of the most important things in preventing the spread of the virus. Wash your hands often and thoroughly. Hand disinfection will be available at the door in Metsku and in the toilets.

Let’s stand together and do what we can to turn the situation around through practical acts and through our prayers! Let’s also pray that people’s hearts will open up to God and the hope and the rock that only Jesus Christ can be in a persons life.

Philippians 4:6–7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
May the peace of God and his blessing rest upon you!
