SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE

We gather for Sunday Service in the church on Sunday 12.9. at 11. Stefan Forsbäck will share the word with us about the theme Transforming. Welcome to join the service!

The Sunday School “Himlakul” for kids will also start from this Sunday!

We will try to keep the service as safe as possible for everyone. It’s therefore important to participate only if you are healthy. We should all be washing our hands and keeping our distance from each other. Using a facemask is still a recommendation but not compulsory and people who have difficulties breathing with a mask or for other health reasons cannot use a mask do not need to wear one.

The link to the Youtube-streaming is found on Facebook in the Åbo Metsku-group right before the service starts.

WEEK OF GOODNESS

This fall, Metsku is going to organize a ‘’Week of Goodness’’ so that we in a practical way show God’s love to people in Åbo.

What is the week of goodness? It’s a week (4-10.10) during which the church will be helping people with practical things such as helping with moving in/out, gardening and other small projects.

How? If you want to come and help out, you fill out the form which indicates when you can do it and what kind of help you want to contribute with. You can also help spreading the word to someone you think would appreciate an extra pair of hands (even if you can’t help out yourself).
The form is under the link:

https://docs.google.com/…/12DoBWp8z8vI181AFYLJnMiP…/edit

Where? We coordinate so that you’ll be helping someone together with at least one other person.

Why? We want to show God’s love and goodness in a practical way.We hope that you’ll join us for this week of goodness!
If you have any questions, you can contact either Karolina Salo or Victoria Airola.

METSKUS EVENT CALENDARMetsku has an event calendar on Google-calendars that you can add to you’re own electronic calendar and that way you’ll have all the dates for happenings visible for the whole summer (and beyond). Here’s the link:

LAST WEEKS SERMON

Please feel free to use these questions to dig deeper into Stefan Forsbäcks important teaching about the theme Transforming from last Sunday 5th of September. You can go through them alone or in a group, after or as you are listening to the sermon.

You find the link to the service here:

1. What can the Bible passage Mark 9: 17-29 teach us about faith and in what way we should believe?

2. In what way does the importance of prayer appear in the story above? What does prayer do to our faith?

3. Read the following Bible passages with promises from God: Jeremiah 32:27, Luke 1:37, Matthew 19:26, Matthew 17:20. If it is still difficult to believe in God’s transforming power, think about what is stopping you from believing.

4. Read Matthew 8: 1-4. Think about what things you would like God to change in your life. When you pray for these things, also keep in mind that he not only can but also WANTS to change these things. He longs to help and heal us.

Bible passages: Luke 7:21-22, Mark 9:17-29, Matthew 9:23, Jeremiah 32:27, Luke 1:37, Matthew 19:26 and 17:20 and 8:1-4
